The Seagate Cheetah
73LP series was designed for the demanding requirements of e-commerce,
departmental servers, data mining, and A/V applications. The
Cheetah 73LP benefits from significant performance enhancements
with Seagate's Advanced Multidrive System (SAMS) that optimizes
performance in server and RAID applications. It also features
Just In Time (JIT) seeking technology that minimizes actuator
impact on acoustics, power and vibration, and RV Sensor that
monitors and adjusts for movement in position of the drive as
a result of vibration in a multi-drive cabinet. G-Force Protection,
is a drive enhancement that protects the drive's data from external
shock and Seagate’s SeaShell packaging protects the drive
from external shock.
The Cheetah 73LP 73.4GB 2Gbit/sec. Fibre Channel hard drive
features a 10,000rpm spindle speed, 4.9ms access time, a 4MB
cache buffer, and a five year manufacturer's warranty. The
2Gbit/sec. Fibre Channel hard drives are capable of data transfer
rates up to 200MB/second per loop and they do not require
terminators. Fibre Channel drives require special controllers
and cables.
