X15-36LP series 18.4GB Ultra 160 SCSI hard drive with its 15,000rpm
spindle speed delivers the fastest seek times in the world,
3.6ms! It also features a 8MB cache buffer, an average latency
of 2ms, and a maximum data transfer rate of 160MB/second.
The Cheetah X15-36LP benefits from significant performance
enhancements with Seagate's Advanced Multidrive System (SAMS)
that optimizes the drive for maximum I/O performance in server
and RAID applications. The Cheetah X15-36LP features the most
comprehensive drive protection system in the industry, Seagate’s
3D Defense System consisting of Drive Defense, Data Defense,
and Diagnostic Defense. Just-In-Time (JIT) minimizes actuator
impact on power, vibration, and acoustics, resulting in lower
operating temperatures, improved reliability/life, and quieter
drives.
The Ultra 160 SCSI hard drives are capable of data transfer
rates up to 160MB/second, they have a 68-pin connector, and
they work on Wide, Ultra Wide, Ultra2, or Ultra 160 controllers
at the controller's maximum speed. To achieve 160MB/sec burst
transfer rate, an Ultra160 SCSI controller card is required.
